Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-10-09. This policy explains what personal data LexiDaily collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the choices and rights you have.

Who we are

LexiDaily is a daily word game that runs inside ChatGPT. It is operated by Furkan Ismail, an individual developer publishing under the name onbaj ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the data described here. Contact: privacy@onbaj.com.

What we collect

When you play LexiDaily in ChatGPT, OpenAI sends us a small amount of information with each game action. We store:

An anonymous player ID that ChatGPT generates for LexiDaily. It is not your name, email or OpenAI account, and we cannot use it to identify you.
Your timezone, so your daily puzzle changes at your local midnight.
Your country, language and device type (for example "US", "en-US", "iOS"), as ChatGPT reports them. We do not keep your city or precise location.
Your games and stats: guesses, results, streaks and win distribution.
Usage events: which game action was used and when (for example "game opened" or "guess submitted").

When you visit this website (play.onbaj.com) we record the page, the date, your country (looked up once from your IP address using DB-IP Lite data) and the site that linked you here. We do not store your IP address. To count unique visitors within a day we keep a one-way hash that changes every day, so visits cannot be linked across days or to you.

What we don't collect

We never receive your ChatGPT conversations, your name, email address, phone number, precise location or payment details. We do not use cookies, advertising or third-party trackers.

How we use it

To run the game: show your board, score your guesses and keep your streak and stats.
To give hints: when you ask for one, ChatGPT receives your current board and today's word so it can write a clue.
To understand and improve LexiDaily, using aggregate statistics such as daily players and countries.
To keep the service secure and working, and to respond to support or deletion requests.

We do not sell or rent personal data, use it for advertising, or use it for automated decisions about you. Where data protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing and improving the game you chose to play.

Who we share it with

OpenAI, because LexiDaily runs inside ChatGPT. What you type in ChatGPT and the game information ChatGPT receives (such as your board and hints) are handled under OpenAI's privacy policy.
Hetzner Online GmbH, which hosts our server in Germany, as our infrastructure provider.
Authorities, if we are legally required to disclose information.

We do not share personal data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Game data, stats and usage events are kept while LexiDaily operates, so your streak and stats keep working. Website visit records contain no IP address and are kept for statistics. Server backups are kept for 14 days. If LexiDaily shuts down, we delete the data.

Security

Data is stored on a server we control, accessed only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and limited to what the game needs. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing privacy@onbaj.com. Because we only hold an anonymous ID, tell us roughly when you last played and from which country so we can find your record. We will respond within 30 days. You can stop all collection at any time by not using LexiDaily or by disconnecting it in your ChatGPT settings. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

International users

Our server is in Germany. If you play from another country, your data is transferred to and processed there.

Children

LexiDaily is not directed at children under 13 and is only available to people who meet ChatGPT's own age requirements. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
